I have always bought Columbia, but came across this when preparing for a trip to Iceland. I was definitely hesitant. I hadn't heard of this brand and was skeptical at the price. I gave it a shot and was really happy! I used both the outer layer separate and them both together. They were definitely waterproof, and trust me they got tested. They were wind proof, which was needed! They were comfortable and warm. The hood did a nice job. Would definitely recommend!
